Reading/Language Skills and Test Dates:

December 1 - 5

Story: "Ben and the Emancipation Proclamation" and The Best/Worst Christmas Pageant Ever

Comprehension Skill: making inference and sequence

Word Analysis: suffixes -ment and -ial/-al

Spelling: suffixes -ment and -ial/-al

English: modal auxiliary verbs continued

Writing: narrative


Upcoming Tests:

December 11th: Modal Auxiliary Verbs assessment

December 16th: Unit 3 Lesson 2 reading test (includes vocabulary, word analysis, and comprehension story)

December 16th: spelling test on suffixes -ment and -ial/-al


Homework

The students will complete vocabulary flashcards and spelling choices in class.  Any assignments not completed in class will need to be completed for homework.  

Read 60 minutes the week of December 1st-5th and complete the reading response section of the reading log.  This is due first thing Friday morning.
