Blurred Lines

"Blurred Lines" describes the art you will experience in the June show here at ACAI. The show includes Linda Nunes's whimsical and intriguing encaustic artworks that get their soft quality from the wax and resin she uses. Sid and Donine Wellman's edgy abstracts and wild pop art incorporate texture, layers, and color fades to blur traditional lines. These three well-known artists have their works in collections regionally and nationally. You can find their art in museums and large-scale public art.

Sid’s work consists of whimsical iconic bold graphics, high-contrast Pop Art, ‘Cartoonish to Abstracts.’ It is a combination of paintings, cut-outs, and sculptures that are a mixture of pop and abstract art styles that merge to form a unified whole.

Donine’s mixed media work, with its old-world textures and patinas, graphic elements, and peaceful palets, inspires you and brings life and beauty to both personal living and professional spaces. Much of her art has hidden messages or numbers collaged into them for pondering and mystery to the viewer.

Linda’s work is primarily non-narrative, characterized by gestural marks, texture, and color. She often creates in the unique and ancient media of encaustic (beeswax and resin) or cold wax and oil.
