My name is Nikki Martin and this will be my 2nd year at ACA and my 25th year to teach young people. I have a wonderful husband, Jason, of 23 years, and together we have three children. Madilyn (21), who is a senior at Texas A&M and lives in College Station. She is studying to be a veterinarian at the very best school. Whoop! Next, Kennedy (19), also an Aggie, is a sophomore studying education. Gig'em! Max (16), is a senior at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield. He is in the Wind Symphony Eagles Band and plays the trumpet. If I am not busy with my family or church, then my furbabies keep me entertained. I have 1 boxer, Kloee, a mini schnauzer named Bentley, any my newest love, Harper, an Australian Labradoodle.
I am excited to be working with you at ACA. I began my teaching journey at Duff Elementary with Mrs. Teri Rodgers as my counselor. I taught special education for about 6 years and then transitioned to general education teaching PK, K, 2nd, and 3rd grades. For 15 years I worked with students in small group as an ESL Specialist and Reading Interventionist in Mansfield ISD. I have also been trained to provide services for students with dyslexia. I absolutely love building relationships with kids, and helping them learn how to read, write and think. I truly believe that we never stop learning, and I strive to make sure that I am constantly adjusting and adapting to new information and teaching styles.
