I am 39 years old and grew up into a large, loving family. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters. I attended school at Rayne Catholic Elementary and graduated from Notre Dame in 2004. My husband Robert and I have been married for over 18 years. Together we have one beautiful daughter named Ava and one fur-baby name Izzy. My husband and I both lived in Rayne, Louisiana for the majority of our lives. We moved into the Mire area about 13 years ago after having our daughter. We love the Mire Community so much and can't imagine living in any other area.
I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2008 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. This is my eighteenth year of teaching in Acadia Parish. I spent the first 8 years teaching 3rd grade at Martin Petitjean Elementary. The rest of my teaching career has been right here at Mire Elementary. I taught one year in first grade, then moved back up to my favorite grade...THIRD! I absolutely love the personality, deep conversations and discussions, independence, and rigor that third grade entails.
I love teaching! I love everything about it. Each and every year a new group of students is entrusted to me for the year. I do not take this lightly. Over the course of the year we learn so much together and become one big family. The best feeling as a teacher is watching my students flourish...growing into greater versions of themselves that they never thought was possible.
I want you to know that I try with my best efforts to make each student feel safe, loved, valued, and important. My greatest hope is that every student of mine loves school and that my teaching creates a spark that ignites a love of school for not only our year together, but also in the years to come.
I know that a successful school year doesn't happen without proper collaboration and communication. Working together is essential. Therefore, I thank you in advance parent(s) and guardian(s) for all the support you will provide to make this school year a success. If you need me, I am only an e-mail, Remind message, or phone call away. I look forward to a successful 2025-2026 school year.
