About Me

My name is Jeanne Marie Maraist, and I teach 6th Grade Science and Social Studies at Mire Elementary. This is my 14th year of teaching, and my sixth year at Mire Elementary. I live in Crowley, where I was born and raised. I am a graduate of Notre Dame High School ('07) and Louisiana State University ('11). I am certified in Elementary Education (1-5), General Science (6-12), and Middle School Social Studies (4-8).

I am the proud cat mom of my two fur babies, Ellie and Sue (LSU). In my free time, you can find me on the couch watching Netflix, at any LSU sporting event, or hanging out with friends and family. I have a passion for all things Science and History-related, and I absolutely love that I get to spend everyday teaching my favorite subjects!
