At APA, we continue to grow as our studio and industry grows. Each year we have dancers dedicating more hours to APA so we want those students to be challenged, while still offering alternative options for those dancers who would like to participate in additional extra curricular activities. However, competitions are considered mandatory events for all levels. It is important to be fully aware of our entire attendance policy. Technique classes are just as important as rehearsals. Our dancers and teams can not continue to improve and learn to dance with greater technical ability if everyone does not attend on a consistent basis.
Minis (5-7 years old):
Students in this age group will compete with a Jazz & Tap routine.
Hours of dance a week from September 3rd - June 9th: ***Schedules will not be finalized until after our auditions so we can see how many students are interested in each Team.

Monthly Tuition Cost: about $159.10 - *10 payments charged on the 15th of the month for the upcoming month. The monthly fee will remain the same whether it is a long or short lesson month.
Mini Hip Hop (ages 5-7) -
Hours of dance a week from September 3rd -June 9th: ***Schedules will not be finalized until after our auditions so we can see how many students are interested in each Team. The schedules listed below are tentative.

Students ONLY taking Mini Hip Hop - they would need to take 1 jazz or hip hop class (most likely on a different day of the week) in addition to their 1 hour required team rehearsal class.
Students enrolled on another Team, would add 1 hour per week for their required team hip hop rehearsal.
Additional Class Requirements:
Summer Weekly Classes held on Mondays 6:00-7:00pm from June 17th-August 12th.
Summer Choreography Camps - held the week of August 12th-15th or the week of August 19th-22nd. Students will attend one-time block during these weeks to start learning choreography for their routines.
1 Saturday per month extra rehearsal from September-February. Students will attend an extra 30-minute rehearsal on one Saturday per month to focus on their routines aside from their normal class time.
October Choreography Camps - each team will be assigned to a time block during one weekend in October to learn more choreography.
Perform at APA's Winter (Jazz Only) & Spring Showcases (Jazz and Tap)
Compete at 3-4 competitions on weekends usually during February-May (3 in Milwaukee area & 1 in Wisconsin Dells/Madison/Chicago based upon schedules) Nationals competition will be out of state for the 2024-2025 season during June/July is NOT required for this age group.
Attendance Allowance:
APA allots 4 absences per Rehearsal during the 2024/2025 dance year. If you miss 5 or more in a dance year, your account on file is charged a $25 fee for every additional absence and you must schedule a private lesson to make up for your time missed. Additional monthly rehearsals, summer intensives, and choreography camps are also mandatory and count toward absence totals.
APA allots 4 absences per technique class during the dance year. If you miss 5 or more of one technique class, you must attend another technique class in your level or lower and pay $14.75 (the cost for one class).
Competitions: All competitions and performances (this includes all showcases) are mandatory during the dance year. If you have an extenuating circumstances you must email APA’s Team Coordinator no later than a month before the event date. Excused absences are on a case by case basis. Missing competitions may reflect on placement the following year. The last rehearsal before a competition or performance, all dancers must be present and able to dance at their weekly required classes and rehearsals or they will be ineligible to dance at the competition. No refunds will be given. Dancers must still attend the competition or they may be removed from the team.
Note: Excused absences are for GRADED school events, extra-curricular and non-graded events accrue one of the allotted absences. We know academics are a priority, however, you must consider your commitments and work-load prior to joining an APA Team for the full season. Choreography Camps: $69 (includes August & October camps)
2 Costumes w/ tights: $200 ($100 each)
Warm-Up Jacket: $75-$85 (students can re-wear each year if it fits and can wear any black long pants that student provides)
Competitive Make-Up: $50 (can be re-used each year)
Tan Jazz Shoes: $35.95
Tan U-Shell Tap Shoes: $29.95
Competition Fees: On average each team your child chooses to be on is about $446 If your child has more than one team rehearsal dance, you can add $311 per additional team. ***Minis compete with 2 routines so the cost would be $757. The cost is lower due to duplicate events. If you are on 3 teams, you would add $311 for the 2nd team, $311 for the 3rd team and so on.

August 15th Payment for September Tuition
Your account on file will be charged on this date for September tuition. Tuition charges will occur on the 15th of every month: August - May, divided into 10 equal payments - these are for classes starting September 2024 through June 2025. The amount is based upon how many weekly hours your student attends.
August Payment for Misc Items: (Shoes, Ballet Belts, Make-up, Jewelry etc.) - students will get sized during their choreography camp in August for items that are needed and we will provide totals at that time. Payments will be charged, when you place your order.
September 15th is your normal monthly tuition charge!
October 1st Costume Charges
Team costume/tight packages $105.50 (including tax) for every team that your dancer is on. Each team routine has a separate costume. Costumes may come with tights depending on cost and number of accessories. Additional tights may need to be purchased throughout the year if not in performance condition.
Mini Jazz/Tap dancers will be charged for 2 costumes since they are required to perform both styles when competing.
Recreational dance class costumes will not be charged until October 15th if anyone is enrolled in an additional class. Acro costumes are NOT charged on this date and are usually charged in February.
Solo/Duet Competition Fees charged December 4th - (only if you are invited for these routines as we have limited spots available; registration begins in September)
