5th Grade

Hello everyone! I’m Mrs. Celestino, and I’m so excited to start this journey with all of you. I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and I’ve been proud to call Miami home for the past three years. This is my 10th year teaching, and throughout my career, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach students from Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade. I can’t wait to learn, grow, and have fun together this year!

A Few Fun Facts About Me:

 Education: I have a bachelor’s degree in Education and a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

 Hobby: I love going to the beach and spending time outdoors.

 Favorite Colors: Pink and turquoise make me smile!

 Family: My three children are my heart and greatest joy.

Hello! My name is Ms. Groso, and I’m excited to kick off another amazing school year here at AcadeMir Preparatory Academy. I’ve been an educator for 13 years, with most of my experience in middle school, and this is my second year teaching 5th grade—and I absolutely love it!

When I’m not in the classroom, I’m spending time with my three wonderful kids, working in my yard, or cheering on the Miami Dolphins and our Championship Florida Panthers!

This year’s theme, “Chasing Greatness, Achieving Excellence,” is one I truly believe in. I’m committed to helping each student reach their full potential and make this year one of growth, discovery, and success. Let’s make it a great one—together!

Hello and welcome to Team Katz! This is my fourth year teaching at AcadeMir Preparatory Academy, and I’m excited for another successful adventure. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a safe, supportive learning environment filled with active, engaged learners who can excel to reach their full potential. I believe mistakes are not just part of learning—they are essential for authentic academic, social and emotional growth.

This year, we’re Chasing Greatness and Achieving Excellence in all we do. Just like in sports, success in the classroom comes from teamwork, perseverance, and a winning attitude, and I’m ready to coach my students toward their goals and celebrate every victory—big and small—along the way.

Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Quevedo, and I will be teaching 5th grade Reading and Writing for the 2025-2026 school year. I graduated from Florida International University and have been teaching ever since. This is my third year at Academir, and I’m so excited to welcome our new 5th graders into the classroom!

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family and my two adorable dogs. I’m a big fan of anything chocolate, and you’ll rarely catch me without a cup of coffee in hand. My hobbies include listening to music, watching movies, and reading—so I can’t wait to share that love of stories with you this year.

I know this year will be filled with learning, creativity, and plenty of fun. Let’s make it the best one yet!
