    Hello! My name is Ms. Johnson, and I’m so excited to begin another amazing school year with you. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and I’m proud to be entering my 6th year as a teacher and my 3rd year here at Academir Preparatory Academy.

I earned both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Exceptional Student Education from Florida International University, along with Reading and ESOL Endorsements.

As a reading teacher, my mission is to help every student develop the foundational skills and confidence they need to become strong, independent readers. I believe reading is the key to success in all areas of learning, and I work hard to make sure my students not only grow in their reading abilities but also develop a genuine love for books. Through small group instruction, interactive lessons, and engaging texts, I aim to meet each child’s individual needs and help them reach their fullest potential.

My top priority is to create a supportive and welcoming classroom community—a true family of learners. I strive to build an environment where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow. To support this, I’ve planned a variety of activities that promote collaboration, confidence, and a love for learning. I look forward to working together and appreciate your support in reinforcing this vision at home.

My name is Ms. Meyrick, and I’m so excited to be part of this learning adventure with your child. I believe every school year is a chance to grow, explore, and achieve amazing things together, and I can’t wait to see all that we accomplish.

About Me

I am a lifelong athlete with a passion for teaching and coaching. I swam competitively for a Division I program and also competed as a triathlete. Over the years, I have coached triathletes, led a learn-to-swim program, and provided private swim lessons.

This is my second year teaching, and I bring the same dedication and encouragement from my coaching background into the classroom. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance.

Born and raised in Miami, I love inspiring students to reach their full potential and helping them develop skills they can carry with them for life.

My name is Ms. Rodriguez and I will be your Grade 3 teacher this year! I look forward to meeting you! I am a first year teacher here at AcadeMir Preparatory Academy. I have experience with grades 1st - 8th. I am Puerto Rican, born in Miami but raised in Puerto Rico and moved back to Miami in 2020. I have a dog named Neil. In my spare time, I enjoy working out spending time with my sister and friends. I come from a mom and I love teaching and inspiring young minds to become creative thinkers and independent learners. 

Hello! My name is Mrs. Cardenas and I am pleased to be your child’s 3rd grade teacher. I am looking forward to a productive and exciting school year. I was born and raised in Miami, FL and I am proud to say this is my 9th year teaching and I feel fortunate to do what I love.

I attended both Miami Dade College and Florida International University. I have a Bachelor of  Science in Early Childhood Education and working on a Master's in Literacy.

As your child’s teacher I want to make the classroom environment a pleasant one, filled with rich experiences, exciting projects, loads of achievements and lasting friendships. In order to accomplish this task, I feel that it is imperative to develop and maintain a year of classroom involvement with you. You will be the first to know whether your child is enjoying school, needs special attention in a certain area, or if a situation is affecting his/her academic progress. My commitment to your child is genuine and our interaction is essential to your child’s education-both academically and behaviorally.
