Hello!

My name is Ms. Meyrick, and I’m so excited to be part of this learning adventure with your child. I believe every school year is a chance to grow, explore, and achieve amazing things together, and I can’t wait to see all that we accomplish.

About Me:

I am a lifelong athlete with a passion for teaching and coaching. I swam competitively for a Division I program and also competed as a triathlete. Over the years, I have coached triathletes, led a learn-to-swim program, and provided private swim lessons.

This is my third year teaching, and I bring the same dedication and encouragement from my coaching background into the classroom.

My name is Mrs. Lagoa and I am a Reading and Language Arts teacher. I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Nova Southeastern University. 

My passion is to see my students learn and grow. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun together. I believe in creating a classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to do their best!

Hi, I’m Ms. Katz!

I am excited to be teaching third grade and beginning my fifth year at AcadeMir Preparatory Academy. I believe every student is capable of learning and growing, and I strive to create a supportive classroom where students feel valued, encouraged, and confident taking risks. I want my students to understand that mistakes are an important part of learning and that perseverance and a positive mindset can help them achieve their goals.

A Little About Me

I graduated from the University of Florida and am the proud mom of an eighth-grade daughter. I am also a pet mom to one dog and one cat! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, organizing, and finding creative ways to make spaces feel welcoming and inviting. I truly enjoy building relationships with my students and creating a classroom community where everyone feels supported, included, and excited to learn.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and many special memories together!
