Hello everyone! My name is Janet Bencomo. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology.  I will be your child's Physical and Comprehensive Science teacher. I will also be your child's U.S History teacher. I am so excited to teach your child this year and to help them grow both academically and personally.  

My goal is to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom where every child feels safe and valued. I'm looking forward to building a strong classroom community and watching how our students grow into confident and curious learners.

Hello Parents and Families, Welcome to a new school year! My name is Mrs. Betancourt, and I am excited to be your child’s 6th & 7th grade math or 8th Grade Geometry Lab teacher this year. This will be my 17th year in education, and teaching continues to be something I truly enjoy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an ESOL endorsement from FIU and my Master’s degree in Reading K–12 from Grand Canyon University. A little about me: I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors—especially near the ocean! I believe that a strong partnership between home and school plays an important role in student success, and I look forward to working together to help your child grow in confidence, strengthen their math skills, and have a successful school year. Welcome! My name is David Dachs, and I am the teacher for Algebra and 7th grade Accelerated Math. I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University. This is my third year teaching at Academir Charter School West. In my class, your students will be building on their mathematical skills, learning advanced concepts, and applying said concepts to real-world scenarios.

Hello everyone! My name is Robert Delgado and I graduated from Full Sail University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Game Design. It is a pleasure to be starting my fifth year at AcadeMir Charter School West. I will be teaching Robotics, Journalism, and Geometry this year. I aim to bring engaging lessons to our students and I am excited to work with all of my students this year and strive for continued growth and success for all. 

Hello everyone! My name is Catalina Ortiz, and I graduated from Florida International University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education K-6th. I also earned a Master’s Degree in 2012 in Reading Education K-12th. In addition, I am ESOL and Gifted endorsed. This will be my 15th year teaching at ACSW. During my time here I have taught Kindergarten-Middle School. This year, I’m excited to return as a 6th Grade Language Arts, Advanced Academics, and Intensive Reading teacher. I’m looking forward to an amazing school year filled with growth and success!

My name is Megan Rizza, and I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience and Cognition and a minor in Biology. This is my second year at AcadeMir Charter School West, and I will be teaching Biology and Medical Academy. I'm so excited to work with you this year!

Hello everyone! My name is Laura Rodriguez and I graduated from Florida International University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in Education. It is a pleasure to be starting my fourth year at AcadeMir Charter School West. I will be teaching Civics, United States History, and World History this year. I am proud to share that over the last four years my students have enjoyed great academic success, highlighted by my Civics students achieving 100%  proficiency on their End of Year Exams. I am excited to work with all of my students this year and strive for continued growth and success for all.
