Hello! I’m Ms. Diaz and I’m thrilled to be your math, science, and social studies teacher this year. With over 17 years of teaching experience, I am passionate about making learning exciting and accessible for all students. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Barry University, and since then, I’ve dedicated myself to helping students discover the beauty and usefulness of learning. I believe that math is not just about numbers and equations, but about problem-solving, critical thinking, and developing a mindset that embraces challenges. My goal is to help each of my students build confidence in their skills and develop a lifelong love for learning.
Hello! I'm Mr. Sommer. The 2024-2025 school year will be my fourth-year teaching at Academir Charter School West as an English teacher. ACSW provides so many opportunities for the student to grow in their education. As a teacher, helping the students to communicate effectively in writing and encouraging them to enjoy reading books is paramount. Through this development, students can interact more meaningfully with the other subject areas to become the well-rounded graduates of the future. I look forward to working with my students this year!
Hello! I’m Ms. Romero and I am the 5th grade ELA teacher. I aim to create a platform for communication and deepen students' appreciation for literature while helping them develop their unique writer's voice. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from FIU in Psychology. I also received my Master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education from Barry University. My objective as your child’s teacher is to create a platform of encouragement and support for them to succeed. I also aim to promote a welcoming environment for each student to feel seen and heard. Once again, I look forward to being your child’s teacher and having an exceptional school year together!
