Welcome, ACSP Families, to the World of STEM!

My name is Mrs. Restrepo, and I am thrilled to join Academir Charter School Preparatory as your child’s STEM teacher. This is my third year in education and my first year at Academir, where I teach students in grades 2–5.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University. Before joining Academir, I spent two years teaching special education and three years working in behavioral therapy, experiences that taught me how to meet each student where they are and help every learner grow with confidence. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish and love connecting with our families in both languages.

My goal in the STEM classroom is to spark curiosity, showing students that the world around them is full of questions worth asking and problems worth solving. Through hands-on exploration, coding, and design, I want every child to discover that learning is engaging, exciting, and within their reach.

I look forward to exploring, building, and discovering together this year!

My name is Mrs. Monica Cisneros, and I am excited to begin my sixth year at Academir as your child's elementary music teacher. I teach students in grades 2–5 and lead our after-school Piano Enrichment Club.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music and a Master's Degree in Music Therapy. My passion for music education, combined with my graduate studies, has helped me understand how music can support learning and child development. My goal is to create meaningful musical experiences where every child can participate, express themselves, and succeed.

Whether your child is just beginning their musical journey in second grade or continuing through fifth grade, I look forward to learning, creating, performing, and growing together!

My name is Jenny Gomez, and I am so excited to be your Spanish teacher this year! I have a teacher certificate in Spanish language. This is my 8th year as a teacher and my 5th year in the Academir family. My goal this year is to help you develop your communication skills while learning about the fascinating world of Hispanic culture. Let's rock this year in Spanish!

My name is Sweitzer Miranda and I am so excited you are here! I look forward to being your child’s Spanish teacher in this 2026-2027 school year. I have a teacher certificate in Spanish language. This is my 5th year in the Academir family. My goal is to help your child to develop his/her Spanish skills in communication (write/speak Spanish correctly) and that he/she can know about the fascinating Hispanic culture. That is why I invite your child to come with the desire to learn, and we can together get to make a great team.

Hello everyone, Welcome! My name is Ms. Adriana Otero and I will be your child's PE Coach this year. This will be my third year teaching. I graduated with my bachelor's from FIU and my master's degree from Lynn University while being a student athlete and playing college softball. 

On my free time I enjoy playing pickleball, working out and coaching softball. I am looking forward meeting all of you and having a great school year!

I graduated from FIU in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Art and a minor in Art History. I grew up knowing I wanted to be an artist. Since childhood, I had been writing stories, illustrating, in love with music and video-games. I realized later that I can combine my love for art with students when I learned how much I loved teaching throughout my pursuit of education. I hope to inspire my students and excite them about being creative and seeing new perspectives.

Art gives children the opportunity for self-development, understanding and critical thinking. It allows them to express creativity, intuition and knowledge of subject matter in unique ways. Students also learn how to problem solve, work together, learn social skills, give and receive constructive criticism, patience, and other skills.

My goal is to help students not only learn about art but to be able to use it as a tool for communication in their life and see art as a language that all humans share everywhere in the world.

My name is Coach Rivera. I’m so happy to be one of your amazing PE teachers for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This will be my 4th year of teaching, as well as my fourth year with the AcadeMir family. I played division 1 softball and graduated from FIU with a Bachelors in Sports Medicine. I have a deep passion for sports, and I look forward to sharing that passion with my students this year.
