Can students wear sneakers? Yes.
Do students need PE uniforms? Yes, they are purchased at Ibiley Uniform Store and must be worn every Tuesday. Students come to school dressed in their PE uniform and will remain in their PE uniform all day.
Are students issued Student Identification Cards (IDs)? Yes, students are required to wear their student ID as part of the daily uniform.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
What time do students have to be in school? Students in Kindergarten must by 8:30 a.m. School opens at 7:00 a.m. for those who are interested in before-care. Students not registered in before-care may be dropped off any-time between 8:00am-8:30am.
What time is dismissal? Students in Kindergarten are dismissed at 2:30pm, except 1 Wednesday a month when they are dismissed at 12:30pm. All students who are not registered in after-school care and are picked up late will be charged a late fee. Our dismissal policy DOES NOT permit students to be released from school 30 minutes prior to their scheduled dismissal time.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
Parents/visitors must enter through our one point of entry, which is through the main office. Upon entry to school grounds you will be greeted by a law enforcement officer who will then advise the main office of your visit.
All visitors must check-in with our Concierge Pad system using a valid form of identification (i.e. Driver’s License). Once you have been checked in, you will receive a visitor’s badge that must be worn while on campus.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Medical clearance will be required prior to returning to school.
If your child is feeling sick, they MUST stay home.
Please inform school if a family member is at home with COVID-19 or if your child tests positive for COVID-19.
Students are required to bring their own water bottles.
HOMEWORK
Homework will be given in class and assignments will be posted on the teacher's website.

Can my child bring a cellphone or electronic device to school? Students should not bring cellphones or electronic devices. They are not allowed to be used in school. If a student is caught using any electronic device, it will be confiscated and a parent will have to pick it up after school in the main office.

VOLUNTEER HOURS
Are Parent/Guardians required to volunteer? Parent/guardians are asked to complete a minimum of ten (10) hours per school year, per family.
How do you become a school volunteer?
Visit our website and click “Apply to Be a School Volunteer” under the tab “Parents/Students.” Fill out the volunteer registration form and select “LEVEL 1 Basic Background Check.” A fee will apply.
After filling out the volunteer registration form, you will receive an email with additional steps that must be completed before being cleared. Once you have been cleared, you will receive an email and the main office will be notified.
How can I complete my volunteer hours? You may volunteer at any school family event by asking your teacher or signing up online.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Do we follow the MDCPS calendar and rules?
We may or may not follow the MDCPS calendar exactly. However, we do follow the MDCPS grading period start and end dates.
Please refer to the AcadeMir Charter School Preparatory calendar for early release dates, holidays, Teacher Planning Days, and Seasonal Breaks.
We do follow the MDCPS Code of Student Conduct and Student Progression Plan for our Student’s Behavior and Expectations.
FOOD
Can we bring cupcakes for my child’s birthday? No. Due to high allergies, classroom birthday celebrations are not permitted.
Can I bring my child lunch during school hours? No, we do not accept deliveries during the school day as it causes an interruption to the learning environment.
What if my child has a food allergy?
Parents must notify the school immediately and complete proper documentation. Classrooms will be identified and labeled if they have a student with a food allergy.
If your child has a food allergy we make cafeteria seating accommodations for them. Teachers will also make their own classroom adjustments to make sure your child is taken care of.
Is school lunch available? Hot meals will be available for purchase daily. Monthly payments can be made to your child’s meal account through the School Cafe app.
MEDICATION
What if my child needs medication? All medication must be dropped off in the office by the parent. Children may not carry their own medication. Medications need to be administered in the main office. The MDCPS Authorization for Medication (Form 2702E) must be completed by your child’s physician. This form can be given to you in the main office.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
Emergency Contact forms are to be filled out at the beginning of each school year. Please make sure information is accurate at all times. Updates can be made throughout the year by visiting the main office.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS/ ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
The after-school program is open Monday-Friday immediately after dismissal until 6:00 p.m. It is not open when the school is closed. The after-care program provides a snack, homework assistance and enrichment activities to students.
Services for Before-Care, After-Care, and Mini-Care are available at an additional cost. Fees can be accessed via our school website.

Enrichment programs are offered after-school at an additional cost.

Payments are made online within the “Enrichments” registration period in our “School Store” under the “Enrichments/Clubs” tab.
All students registered in after-school or in an enrichment program MUST purchase our school “CHUBB Insurance.” Students who do not have this insurance may not participate in after-care or any enrichment.
