Meet Our Teachers:
My name is Cristina Alayeto and I will be one of your child’s Fifth Grade teachers. Ms. Maldonado and I will we be co-teaching all subject areas, her primary focus will be in Reading and Science and mine will be on Writing, Social Studies and Math.
As a whole, I have been teaching for thirteen years and it will be my eighth year with AcadeMir Charter School Preparatory (ACSP). My bachelor's degree is in Exceptional Student Education and I am certified in Pk-3, Elementary K-6, E.S.E and have endorsements in both Reading and E.S.O.L. Ms. Maldonado and I look forward to working with you and the students to show how ‘Greatness Grows’ when we work together.

Mi nombre es Cristina Alayeto y seré una de las maestras de quinto grado de su hijo/a. La Sra. Maldonado y yo estaremos co-enseñando todas las áreas temáticas, su enfoque principal será en Lectura y Ciencias y el mío será en Escritura, Estudios Sociales y Matemáticas. En general, he estado enseñando durante trece años y este será mi octavo año en AcadeMir Charter School Preparatory (ACSP). Mi título de licenciatura es en Educación para Estudiantes Excepcionales y tengo certificaciones en Pk-3, Elemental K-6, E.S.E y tengo endosos tanto en Lectura como en E.S.O.L. La Sra. Maldonado y yo esperamos trabajar con usted y los estudiantes para mostrar cómo ‘la grandeza crece’ cuando trabajamos juntos.

Hello parents and 5th graders! I am your reading and writing teacher this year. This is my sixth year teaching, my fourth year with the Academir family. I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum Development from FIU. I look forward to a wonderful year full learning.

My name is Ms. Edwards. I will be one of the ELA teachers. I have a Bachelors in Elementary Education from St. Thomas University. I am very excited to teach fifth grade this year! I hope to make a big impact in all of my students lives and can't wait to see their growth throughout the years.
My name is Shashideva Maharaj, but you can call me Mr. M. I'm a proud graduate of Florida International University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Sports Management. This is my first year as a teacher, and I'm thrilled to begin this journey and get to know all of you.

My name is Ms. Maldonado, and I have been teaching since 2008. I have been a part of our ACSP Tiger Family since the campus was opened in 2016. We celebrate 10 amazing years this year!
I graduated from FIU with a Bachelors in Elementary Education with ESOL endorsement, and am currently working towards my masters degree. I am very proud to say that my son is also a part of our Tiger family. He will start seventh grade this year.
I am very excited to join the 5th grade team, as I open the door to new goals, possibilities, opportunities and aspirations. Mrs. Alayeto and I look forward to working with you and the students to show how ‘Greatness Grows’ when we work together. We will co-teach all subjects, but my primary focus will be on Reading, Language Arts and Science. Mrs. Alayeto's main focus will be on Math and Social Studies.
My Favorites and fun facts: I LOVE candles, shopping on Amazon, traveling, cruising, snorkeling, blue, autumn, winter, mountains, water parks, mocha frappuccino, hiking, working out, watching thriller movies, chocolate and coffee.

Get ready for a year full of discovery, growth, and connection! 📚✨ This is my second year at AcadeMir and my fifth year in education. I hold a B.S. in Education from the University of Miami and am currently pursuing my master’s degree. I believe in creating a supportive, engaging classroom where students feel safe to take risks, think critically, and develop a lifelong love for reading and writing. I’m proud to be part of the Tiger family and can’t wait to see all we accomplish this year! 😊

Hi everyone, I am Ms. Vazquez, and this is my fifth year teaching at AcadeMir Charter School Preparatory and my 12th year working with children. I hold a bachelor’s in Psychology from Florida International University and a master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami. My teaching focuses on communicative approaches and creative planning, incorporating cooperative learning and projects throughout the year. I was the teacher of the year for the 2024-2025 school year and I love the ocean. I look forward to a wonderful school year with your child and getting them ready for middle school!
