Welcome to First Grade! My name is Christina Hernandez and I am so excited to be your childs teacher this school year! This will be my 5th  year teaching and my 3rd year teaching first grade! I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. Teaching is one of biggest passions in life! I love working with young children and taking a role in their academic and social emotional development. I promise to love your child as if they are my own. It is going to be an awesome year!

I was born in Venezuela but was raised in Miami. I graduated from FIU with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. This will be an exciting year filled with new and fun learning activities!

Hi! I am Mrs. Cuervo Gamio and I’m excited to be teaching 1st grade Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher. This will be an exciting year filled with new and fun learning activities. This will be my 5th year teaching in Academir East. I was born in Cuba and came to Miami working in education in both countries. I graduated from Cuba and studying in USA with a Bachelor’s in Education major in Chemistry, Childhood Education and elementary. My goal is to create a family of learners who value and respect each other.
