Welcome from Mr. Lucier

Hello Warrior Chorus!

My name is Mr. Lucier and I have been the choir director at Western Alamance High School for 13 years. I am so excited to be back for another wonderful year in our community helping to foster young musicians into lifelong lovers of our craft.

During my time at Western, our choirs have continually been rated highly at both state and national competitions for choral music, contemporary a cappella, and show choirs. The year is just beginning, so let's make sure we continue this long standing tradition of excellence.

My favorite part of the Western community is the people that I get to interact with every day. There is such a sense of family and community here, and the appreciation and love of music runs deep thanks to our predecessors like Eddie Harris, Katherine Fernandez, and Darla Bray. We are an incredibly musical area of the state, and I am proud to call this school my musical home.

In the interest if being completely honest, we are in dire need of support in the arts now more than ever. Across the country, music programs are faltering and students aren't signing up. Encourage your families, neighbors, and friends to do all they can for the arts and to sign up for classes. Email a principal, a school board member, or even your teacher and let them know about a performance you've seen here that truly mattered to you. Volunteer with us to help us grow and offer the highest standard of education to our students. I will continue to fight for each student's right to express themselves through the arts, and I hope you consider joining us on that journey.

Finally, I am always available to talk or email with you about anything else that may be on your mind. Please contact me at the information below if you would like to chat, and please sign up to volunteer on the Parent Volunteer Form to offer to help.

Best of luck this year to all!
