School Psychologist

Loren Thompson, PhD.

What are School Psychologists?

School psychologists are members of school teams that apply expertise in child development, mental health, learning, and behavior to create safe and supportive learning environments and help children succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.

In ABSS, school psychologists consult with teachers, families, school administrators and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers); provide psycho-educational evaluations for exceptional child services; and deliver direct support and interventions to students.
