Governor’s School 2026
Governor’s School is the oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students in the nation. Governor’s School promotes creativity over repetition, theory over rote memorization, and discussion over lectures. The program is open to current 11th graders with exceptions made for current 10th graders in the area of dance, choral music and instrumental music.

Instructions for Applying to Governor's School:
1. Notify Ms. Hayes in the counseling office as soon as possible. We need to discuss the criteria needed to apply and your nomination area before you begin the process.
2. Fully complete the Governor’s School Student Application with all attachments-
Student Application: (Student Information, Essay, Discipline Specific Task, Personal Readiness, and, Statements of Assurance)
Recommendation Form : (Two teacher recommendations needed)
3. Please share your completed, digital Governor’s School application with Joy Hayes on or before November 21, 2025.
