November 1st-2nd are Teacher Workdays - No School for students!
I graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2000, and earned my K-6 teaching licensure from Elon University in 2006. In my 15 years of teaching experience, I've had the opportunity to teach all elementary grades, kindergarten to fifth grade. This is my seventh year at South Mebane Elementary, and my third year teaching second grade. I absolutely love second grade and teaching at SME!!
I have been married to my amazing husband, Hunter, for 17 years. We moved to Mebane in 2004, and we have a wonderful 14-year-old son, Danny. He also attended SME, and will be a ninth grader beginning the Early College program at ACC this year. Although we are self-proclaimed dog people, three years ago we adopted a sweet calico cat, Becky; and last summer we rescued two adorable and mischieveous kittens-Shadow & Luna. Some of my favorite things to do in addition to teaching and learning, include spending time with my family and friends, playing games, reading, watching movies, going to the lake, and paddleboarding .
