What I'm Reading

WHAT I'M READING

It might not be surprising that I love to read! I like to read a lot of different things, in many different formats.

I love good picture books, especially when I get to read them with with my nieces and nephew. I really like mysteries, thrillers, and historical fiction. I also like reading YA, and have several books in my summer reading stack.

Since about 2013 I've been keeping up with what I've read. Several years I have tried to read at least 100 books. So far in 2021 I've read 101 books. In 2020, I read 215 books, and in 2019 I read 139 books.

GOODREADS

I keep track of what I've read using Goodreads. Goodreads will break down what you read each year, let you set up a To Read list, and do a Reading Challenge each year. You can access prior challenges and see statistics about your reading, which I love!

In 2020, I read many more graphic novels than I've ever read before; Hey Kiddo is one of my favorite so far. While I really love print books, I *may* prefer reading graphic novels digitally!

I usually try to read some non-fiction over the summer, because I like learning things. That's one of the things I enjoy about reading - learning new things. I also like to read to be entertained and to escape reality!

AUDIO BOOKS

Another new-to-me book experience in 2020 is actually paying attention to and making it through audio books! So far I've listened to How They Croaked, The Boys in the Boat, Bomb: The Race to Build - and Steal - the World's Most Dangerous Weapon, and Front Desk. I've checked all these out using the NC Kids Digital Library, which is available to all ABSS students and teachers through the ACPLC program with Alamance County Public Libraries.
