Welcome to AVS

My name is Tonya Dobson, and this is my 17th year of teaching.  I am so super excited to partner with you on this adventure at Alamance Virtual School.  I have lived in North Carolina for the past 18 years and moved here from Northern Virginia.  I grew up in New Hampshire, so I absolutely love snow and anything related to snow; skiing, sledding, and cold weather!  I am a wife to my amazing husband, Matthew, and we have three FABULOUS boys, Luke, Jackson, and Max.  Luke (24) is our oldest and is a graduate of East Carolina University and now works and lives in Wilmington, NC.  Jackson (23) is a graduate of Michigan State University and lives and works in Charlotte.  Max (20) is our youngest, and he is going to school at NC State to learn about Cybersecurity.   I have several hobbies that keep me busy, from hiking, exercising, kayaking, reading, and just spending time with our pup, Andi.  We are a close family and value our time together.  We love to travel and do so as often as we can.  I loved teaching virtually, and I am looking forward to another great year!
