• will be held on Tuesday, May 20th during 3rd and 4th blocks 

• will be able to choose to go to Andrews, Eastlawn, or Newlin Elementary School*

• will need to have your Cap & Gown on as you are walking to the bus lot when you are called to report

• will NOT have to follow the Dress Code for this event; however, you will need to meet the regular school day dress code

• will need to complete a permission slip and return it by 4th block on Friday, May 16th; can be picked up from the front office or from Ms. Milton, Mr. Lawson, Ms. Cope, Mr. Nguyen, or Mr. Lawhorn or in the Counseling Center

• will need to complete this Google Form by Friday, May 16th as well

We must have a Permission Form and the Google Form in order to participate

• will be held during 2nd block and Cavalier Time on Thursday, May 22nd

• make sure if you are missing class to make up any assignments you might miss

• will NOT need to have your cap and gown with you

• for seniors only; the person capping them does not attend

• Clothing Options:

  • Option A: dark dress pants or nice khakis with an appropriate top or dress shirt with tie or bow tie

  • Option B: knee-length or longer skirt with appropriate top

  • Option C: knee-length or longer dress 

• Footwear Options: dress shoes, sandals, low heels, or dress cowboy boots (don’t wear anything you are not comfortable in; prefer dark)

• Not Allowed: jeans, shorts, flip-flops, or Crocs

• Alllowed Decorations:

  • You cannot decorate your cap; the only allowed addition to the cap is a headband to help it fit and stay on during the events.

  • Everyone will need to wear the white stole with the school seal and the Class of 2025 tassel that were included in your cap and gown package.

  • Medals and sashes awarded for the following will be allowed:

    • Valedictorian and Salutatorian medals

    • Superintendent's Award medal

    • Latin Honors medals 

    • 4.0 or higher GPA sashes

    • Cords and sashes from National Organizations (Military, FCA, SkillsUSA, SGA, Kiwanis)

If your outfit and/or decorations do not follow these guidelines, you can be removed from the line-up and not allowed to participate in graduation. If you can fix the issue but refuse to do so,  you will be removed from the line-up and not allowed to participate in graduation.

See Mr. Lawhorn, Ms. Milton, Ms. Shackelford, or Ms. Palazzi immediately if you need help getting this outfit. Please do this NOW and do not wait until June.

• will need to arrive on campus and check in with the assigned adult in the commons area by 8:25 a.m.; will then line up with your capper in your designated spot

• will wear your gown and give your cap to the person capping you; will also need to follow the dress code shared above

• will store your change of clothes for the Celebration, your bookbags, etc., in Room 218 B for the ladies and 204 B for the gentlemen; will need to do that before 8:25 a.m. because doors will lock then

• will be held on Friday, May 23rd at 9:00 a.m. in our auditorium; doors will open at 8:30 a.m.

• will have a reserved seat for each senior and the person who is capping them (Only ONE Capper is allowed per person) 

• All other guests will need to report to the Auditorium for seating

• will be first come, first seated for everyone else

• if seats fill up, we will have to turn away guests who arrive later

• Please inform your guest(s) that they will not be allowed in the building after the Awards/Capping Ceremony.  They will need to meet you in front of the building.  (We will still be on a regular schedule for underclassman)

If you would like to donate a door prize to be distributed at the event, you can leave the following kinds of items in the main office on campus with the name Patience Tamba on them:

• gift cards (Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon, fast food restaurants, other box stores, gas stations, etc.)

• school supplies for those heading to college

• dorm room supplies (extra long sheets, laundry baskets or hampers, decorations, etc.)

• will be held during 3rd and 4th blocks on Friday, May 23rd between the baseball and football fields

• will be free of charge for every senior to attend and participate

• is for CHS SENIORS only

• will include food and drinks 

• will include games, music, and fun

• should wear clothing related to your future decision - college shirt, military branch shirt, or something that represents your job; can store these items in Room 218 B for the ladies and Room 204 B for the gentlemen; will need to do that before 8:25 a.m. because doors will lock then

If you have any dietary restrictions, please email or speak with Ms. Shackelford (Counseling Center) by Friday, May 16th so that we can make sure you have food available.

• count as 20% towards your final semester average

• will need to bring your Chromebook and charger to school with you for EACH exam; make sure you have powered off your device and allowed updates to process BEFORE your exam day starts

• will take Teacher Made Exams on Thursday, May 29th and Friday, May 30th; talk with each of your teachers to find out which day

--- can be exempt from Teacher Made Exams only if you have an A average with 5 or fewer absences, a B average with 4 or fewer absences, or a C average with 3 or fewer absences during this semester

• will take End of Course and CTE standardized exams on Monday, June 2nd through Friday, June 6th

• Seniors who are not scheduled for a state exam this week should not be in the building except for Friday, June 6th for the REQUIRED graduation rehearsal.

This event is for seniors only; parents/guardians and any other family members are not allowed on campus as this is also an exam make-up day.

• will be held on Friday, June 6 from 9:00AM until 1PM in Hall A @ the Greensboro Coliseum.  (Transportation will be provided)

• should arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. to line up for rehearsal

• will report to the Fine Arts Building Lobby; do NOT enter the main school building

• will review information and procedures on where to park, meet, and how the day will run 

• will receive your tickets at the END of the rehearsal

• will NOT need to have your cap and gown with you

Please block off from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for this event; it should NOT take this long, but you will not be able to receive your tickets if you leave early to get to work, to go to an appointment, or to meet family coming in. 

All members of the Class of 2025 will receive 13 tickets at the end of Graduation Rehearsal held on Friday, June 6th. Seniors MUST attend the entire rehearsal in order to receive these tickets. It is also important that they have returned all school materials (novels, textbooks, Chromebooks, band uniforms, athletic uniforms, etc.) or paid for them before they receive tickets.

All guests (no matter the age or size) will be required to show a ticket to the event staff as they enter and go through security. Please plan accordingly.

If you would like to have more guests attend than the number of allotted tickets, please discuss with classmates and their families to see if they will give you one that they are not using.

We will not issue additional tickets as all have been accounted for this year

• will be held on Saturday, June 7th at 12:30 p.m. at the Fieldhouse on the Greensboro Coliseum Complex

• will need to wear your Cap & Gown as well as follow the dress code shared above

• will need to report to the Special Events Center Hall A between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.

--- will have to go through Event Security with the Greensboro Coliseum Staff

--- will have to check in with the appointed faculty/staff member

--- will have to line up and make sure you are in the right spot

--- will need time to march from the meeting area to the Fieldhouse to be ready to    march at 12:25 p.m.

• should not have anything but your cell phone and/or keys (no hangers, purses, bags, etc.); leave all of that in your car or with your family

• make sure you do not have any of the following items that are not allowed plus the additional items on this list from the Greensboro Coliseum Complex:

--- flowers or balloons

--- banners, posters, signs/pictures on sticks, etc.

• will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 12:30 p.m. at the Fieldhouse on the Greensboro Coliseum Complex

• will open the doors for guests at 11:30 a.m.; will close them at 12:20 p.m. for the aisles to be clear during the senior processional and reopen them once all seniors are seated

• will have to go through security; the following items are not allowed plus the additional items on this list from the Greensboro Coliseum Complex:

--- flowers or balloons

--- banners, posters, signs/pictures on sticks, etc.

---bull horns, whistles, etc.

• should be aware that multiple events will be happening throughout the Coliseum venues and parking could be difficult
