About Me

Welcome to Camp Carter!

Welcome to kindergarten. I am so excited to be your student's teacher, and I am looking forward to having an exciting year at Camp Carter! This year will be filled with love, exploring, meaningful learning experiences. You may be thinking, why a camping theme? Camping is an experience that cultivates a sense of adventure. During camping, you expose yourself to new things. Overall, camping brings people together. That is my hope for my classroom. I hope to inspire students to be excited about learning, learn something new every day, and build meaningful relationships with all of my students and build an amazing classroom community.

My name is Destiny Carter, and I will be your student's kindergarten teacher. I am an Elon University class of 2019 graduate. During my undergraduate time at Elon University, I majored in Elementary Education and minored in African- African American Studies Education. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education at Elon University. I am originally from Kannapolis, NC- but am happy to call Mebane home for almost 3 years now. I come from a big family, I am the youngest of 4, I have 7 nieces and nephews who I all love dearly- so I value building meaningful relationships with people. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, bingeing television shows, and cooking. I look forward to getting to know you and your student this year. Please reach out to me at any time if you have any questions or concerns. I am so excited to kick off another school year and get to know you and your family.
