STAR Program

Supportive Therapeutic Academic Resource Program

Program Overview

STAR is a short-term transition program designed to support students - academically, emotionally, and socially - as they return to school following extended, medically related absences.  Students may be recovering from significant illness or concussions, surgery, managing chronic conditions, or returning from treatment programs for emotional health or substance abuse issues.

Our goal is to help students and families with a seamless and manageable transition back to school that minimizes stress and supports academic, physical, and emotional health.

How can STAR help?

●        Emotional support through regular meetings with a school psychologist or  school adjustment counselor

●        Discussion of strategies to manage anxiety and creation of a plan to reintegrate socially
