Hello!
My name is Ashlin, and I am a graduate of Utah State University in Music Therapy, with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. I graduated with my coursework in May 2021, and in March 2022, I became a board-certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I have taught private music lessons for over 14 years, and have worked with clients in music therapy sessions for 4 years.
I completed my Music Therapy internship in December 2021 at a private music therapy practice called Sound Starts Music Therapy located in Frisco, Texas. While there, I gained lots of experience working with special needs children and adults in music therapy settings, and also while teaching them how to play instruments.
I received my Master's Degree in Special Education with a focus in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Arizona State in the Spring of 2024. I am now working part-time as faculty in the Music Therapy Program at Utah State University.
In my free time, I love to write and perform music. I also love to spend time with my best friend and husband, Schryver, either playing games, Pickleball, traveling, or watching movies.
Some fun facts about me are that I love musicals, I love good food, and I (and my husband) speak Finnish. :)
I appreciate your trust in me to work with you and your children, and I hope to make the most of your time learning and growing through music!
Please always feel free to reach out if you need anything!
