This is my 9th year at the ASHS Library, working previously at Truman High in Levittown and Hallahan High School in Philadelphia. I am the Sponsor for Reading Olympics and the Class of 2023. I am a voracious reader and love sharing great titles with our students. I am happily married, we have a blended family of 7(!) kids - most of them on their own now.

ASHS Librarian

We are here to assist students one on one or in small groups with the research process, accessing library materials or using online programs. Please be sure to check out our library website at ashslibrary.weebly.com with links to our library catalog, databases, and resources to support all classes and projects at ASHS.

Our 10th grade class and all new students in the 11th and 12th grades will participate in our library orientation lesson in which they will learn about our library resources and services. We will deliver two lessons on digital citizenship topics for every grade level this school year. We will also collaborate with classroom teachers to teach and reinforce research strategies, information literacy skills, online programs, etc.

In addition to our instructional lessons, the ASHS library will be developing online Career Chatter events with the goal of providing information to students about various career fields and the skills necessary for success in the workplace. We will also be presenting First Chapter Fridays, hosting book clubs, and moderating the Reading Olympics club to encourage and support our students interested in independent reading.

Your student may be participating in several different classrooms with the ASHS Librarians, we welcome you to sign up for our Guardian summaries to keep up with our library instruction, special events and opportunities.

Office Hours : Students in need of assistance with research, accessing online content, reading suggestions or online programs can visit the library before and after school or during study hall or lunch periods. Students should make a reservation during school hours. Student Library Reservation Form.

Alternately, students can always send an email to the address above. They should make sure to include their name, grade level, details about their concern/question. We will do our best to answer it by the end of the day.

Parents

If you have questions or concerns, send an email. Make sure you include your child's name, grade level, details about your concern/question, and how soon you need a reply. We will do our best to answer it by the end of the day, but realize that emails sent later in the day may not be answered until the next day.
