We will be using GoMath for Grade 8 this year. To access the book online please go to GoMath Link on the Abington Student Resources. On this site, you will have access to all materials and practice problem.
Click on Go Math/World Geography for Math & Social Studies Textbooks & Fusion for Science textbooks. The username is their I.D. number (it should auto populate with @abington.k12.pa.us) and password is whatever the students use to get on the computer.
USEFUL TOOLS:
The “Student Edition” is the same as what the students would see in their textbook. This is useful in the event that they need their book for homework, but forgot to bring the book home. Print the page, or copy the questions onto another sheet of paper.
The “Interactive Student Edition” includes videos and interactive practice problems. It will tell students whether or not they selected the correct answer. In the “Personal Math Trainer,” students can view examples, complete step-by-step problems, watch a video tutor, and play animated math games.
IXL is a dynamic, comprehensive online learning program for learning Math. Academic achievement in math can be earned through a fun, vibrant learning environment in which students enjoy working on mastering their skills. A student can build upon their educational development through IXL by being offered personalized skill recommendations based on what each student has been practicing, so they can grow from where they are. As the students practice throughout the school year, informative analytics can be accessed to point out the student's successes and needs.
-Students will complete a diagnosis and weekly IXL skills for homework and asynchronous learning.
Xrtamath is a free program that is used to help build foundations of math facts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
We are using a program called XtraMath to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. Your student is invited to spend a few minutes each day practicing math on a computer.
Students are recommended to complete these practice skills 3 times a week.
