Welcome to the study of Civics and Government! During the course of this year we will be studying the foundations of government, the functions of political parties and interest groups, as well as the division of powers. Throughout our course of studying we will be considering such questions as:
Is government necessary?
Why do voters act the way they do?
How fair and effective is the electoral process?
What is the place of media and public opinion in democracy?
How much power should the President have?
How should the United States interact with other countries?
How much power should state and local governments have?
