Eligibility
Revised Schools of Choice 2024-2025
The ABCUSD Board of Education approved the revision of Board Policy and Administrative Regulation 5116.1 - Intradistrict Open Enrollment, which also revised the Schools of Choice process. The Schools of Choice application opens on December 1 and closes on December 31, giving families earlier notification of the school their child will attend if they go through the Schools of Choice lottery.

The revision also refined the ranking used in the lottery, moving those who reside outside the District,
including employees, out of the lottery.
Sibling applicants of students who will continue attending in the school in which the applicant is applying.
Students who reside in ABC, including students who are in specialized programs (pending availability).
Out-of-district students are welcome to enroll through the interdistrict permit process after Schools of Choice is over for the 2024-2025 school year.
Students in grades Kindergarten - 11th grade in the current 2023-2024 school year may apply for Schools of Choice and students that will be eligible for Kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year.
The following schools and programs are not eligible for participation in the Schools of Choice application.
Early Intervention Program
Head Start or California State Preschool Programs (CSPP)
Transitional Kindergarten
Tracy High School
Whitney High School
ABC Virtual Academy / Independent Study Programs
Dual Immersion Programs
