Show up to Room 510 on the day and time you requested.
Sign up for a 30 minute session. If you want 60 minutes, we will try to accommodate you when you arrive but it will depend on the number of tutees signed up
For 1st Quarter: The first session will open on October 5th,2022, and the final session will be on Oct. 19th, 2022 (Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:20-4:20)
Tutors can help with any English class assignments such as annotations, think questions, focus questions, text trackers, the EWP, and other writing assignments.
Please come with a Chromebook and/or printouts of your work that can be shared with the tutor. It is helpful if you have specific questions to ask the tutor.
To start the session, we will need you to give a “30 second speech” to introduce yourself and your assignment:
What is your question?
What do you know that could help you answer your question? (share the prompt, rubric, and anything else you know)
What work have you already done that could help you answer your question? (share your pre-writing work)
What is your main point of confusion?
At this point, the tutor will begin to ask you questions to help you figure out how to answer your question.
In the last three minutes of your tutoring session, you and your tutor will wrap up the ideas you discussed to help you know what to do next:
Work with your tutor to complete the Visit Verification Form (available in Google Classroom at the time of tutoring session -- meant to summarize the session and record next steps)
The Visit Verification Form will be made available to the student and their current English teacher upon request
