Travel Advisory
The Los Angeles County Department of Health issued a travel advisory in February that remains in place. The advisory encourages L.A. County residents to stay close to home to limit the spread of COVID-19.
If you travel outside of the state or country, you must self-quarantine for ten days after you return. This means that students who travel out of the state or country at any time will have to attend school through the Virtual Academy until their 10 calendar days of quarantine is completed and then they can return for in-person instruction.
Daily Health Screening Before Arriving at School
Students are to complete their daily health check online, as provided by the ABC Unified School District every morning. This screening will be sent everyday, but students are only to complete it the days they are on Gahr High School's campus.
If a student does not pass the screening ands feels well enough to attend school virtually, they are able to do so.
Cohort Schedules
Campus Drop-off Map
Please drop-off students as indicated on the map. Students must enter campus at one of the entry gates marked by a blue dot on the map.
Campus Foot Traffic Map
Students are required the directional foot traffic noted on the map. There will be directional arrows posted on the floor of the school.
Campus Pick-up Map
Please pick-up students on campus as indicated on the map. Students are to go home immediately after-school and are not to linger on campus.
Gahr High School Video Tour
It has been well over a year since our returning students have attended school on campus, and our freshman are new to the facilities. Review the campus tour video to familiarize yourself with the Gahr High School Campus.
Daily Temperature Checks
Before entering campus, students' temperatures will be scanned.
If a student has a fever, they will be isolated and their parents or guardians will be contacted to pick up the student from school immediately.
COVID-19 Prevention
Students must wear face coverings covering both their nose and mouth while on the Gahr High School campus.
Physical spacing of 6 feet between students will be required in classrooms and in outdoor areas.
Students will be asked to wash their hands regularly and required to sanitize their desks and work stations.
Reusable water bottles will be needed, as only water bottle refilling stations will be available for student use.
A limited number of restrooms will be available for student use and students are required to follow rules regarding the maximum number of students allowed in restrooms.
If students are unable to follow these requirements, they will be returned to virtual instruction for the remainder of the school year.
Schedule of Classes
The schedule of classes for in-person instruction is the same as the one students followed while attending virtual academy.ic homeroom classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for informational updates.
Learning Hubs
Due to the low number of students returning to school, some students could potentially be placed into a Learning Hub for one or more periods on their day.
The Learning Hub is an area where students are able to work and learn, remain physically distanced, and are supervised by school staff. The hubs will be located outside in a covered area. The Learning Hub has internet access via hotspots for students to log into their virtual classrooms.
Support Blocks
Students will continue to access their teacher's support blocks virtually after-school from home.
School Counseling
Our Gahr High School Counseling Team will continue to support and assist our students and families, in a virtual space.
Lunch Service
Students will be provided "Grab and Go" lunch services. Those students whose instructional day ends at lunch will be asked to pick-up a lunch on the way out. Those remaining on campus can pick-up a lunch and remain on campus.
