I am excited to be your child's teacher this year! In Kindergarten, we learn how to be in school, explore basic academic skills, build on our gross and fine motor skills, and so much more! This is the year that we build our foundations for success, which we will continue to build upon for years to come.
Although we are in unprecedented times, my main priority is to provide engaging learning opportunities for each student. In doing so, please understand that I, myself, am also learning. Your patience and understanding will really be appreciated.
A child's education starts at home and parents are their children's first teachers. Therefore, it is important to me that we work together to ensure the best opportunities for your child. For the first month or so of school, Kindergarteners will need a lot of help and reminders about being in school. We will focus heavily on RESPECT, KINDNESS, AND RESPONSIBILITY, as these are our school's main focuses as part of our PBIS program. Beyond school hours, please practice these concepts with them - what they look like in school and at home. Not to mention, what those concepts will look like for Virtual Academy. I look forward to maintaining an open line of communication with you, as we work towards making the most out of our current situation as best we can to provide a safe, fun, and successful learning environment for each student.
