Cerritos High School's counseling department utilizes the ASCA framework to structure and implement our counseling program to enhance student outcomes. The ASCA National Model is a blueprint for designing counseling programs that align with the school's academic objectives and contribute positively to student achievement, attendance, and behavior management.

This model directs school counselors to develop programs that:

- Utilize data-driven decision-making processes

- Ensure systematic delivery to all students

- Offer a curriculum tailored to students' developmental stages, focus on essential mindsets and behaviors for postsecondary readiness and success

- Address achievement and opportunity gaps

- Result in measurable improvements in student achievement, attendance, and behavior

The ASCA National Model comprises four key components:

 define, manage, deliver, and assess.
