Eligibility for Submission
OPEN ONLY TO CURRENTLY ENROLLED ABCUSD STUDENTS. Encouraging ABCUSD's independent and emerging filmmakers and video artists who make original, short, time-based work that tells a story or expresses an idea or emotion.
The student submitting the film must have had a major creative role in the production of the film/video.
Every student MUST sign the Student Media Release Form.
Rules to Follow
Format and length (Specified under Format Requirements below)
Limit of 2 entries per student.
All films that are not in English must have English language subtitles.
Must include the following information:
Directed by, production Team, Royalty free Music, School Site, Age, and Grade.
To be clear, a signed release form will be required for every person that worked on the film (crew), acted in the film (cast), or whose voice can be heard in the film (cast).
Format Requirements
Only format accepted: Online MP4
Each entry may be no longer than 5 minutes.
***Note: If an uploaded file in the Google Classroom is unable to be viewed, the student will be contacted to upload a different version.

There are elementary, middle & high school categories
Music Video: Dynamic visual storytelling set to music, showcasing creative interpretations and innovative filmmaking within the realm of music.
Promotional: Engaging short films designed to promote events, products, or causes, employing compelling visuals and narratives for effective communication.
Short Film: Concise narrative storytelling that captures compelling stories, emotions, or concepts within a limited time frame, demonstrating strong filmmaking skills.
Experimental Film: Innovative and boundary-pushing cinematic works that explore unconventional storytelling techniques, visuals, and narrative structures.
Public Service Announcement (PSA): Short films designed to raise awareness and inspire action on important social issues, conveying impactful messages for public benefit.
Podcast: Aural storytelling in a visual medium, presenting narratives, discussions, or interviews with a creative and visually engaging approach.
Script Writing: Recognizing outstanding creativity in scriptwriting, this category celebrates the art of crafting compelling narratives and dialogue for the screen.
Submission Process
Work must be SUBMITTED ON MARCH 1ST BY 6:00PM to be considered for the show.

HOW TO SUBMIT THROUGH GOOGLE CLASSROOM
You can follow these steps to upload a video to Google Classroom. You can also upload the video into your Google Drive and choose the Google Drive option to attach the video.
Go to classroom.google.com.
Click the class Classwork.
Click the assignment View assignment.
To attach an item:
Under Your work, click Add or create, select Google Drive , Link , or File
Winner Selection
Each of our judges will vote by a secret ballot, and the film that receives the majority of votes wins.
The People's Choice winner with be selected based on a audience-casted vote completed at the festival through a QR Code/Google Form voting format.
Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
If your film has been selected to be screened at the festival we will request you send a press kit to include: stills, posters, a file/link of the trailer, and other publicity materials to maximize exposure for your film. These materials will not be returned.
