PROFESSOR JOSH HALVERSON

Professor Josh leads the adult programs and is a Black Belt under Professor Brian Marvin. While starting Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra Katy under Professor Ted Stickel, he met Professor Brian there, and a friendship and mentor-ship was formed that still continues. An advocate for all things Jiu-Jitsu, he created his own apparel brand, Always Be Choking, and supports the apparel needs of individuals as well as other academies around the country. A recent ADCC sponsor and certified ADCC referee, he stays up to date on the current trends in Jiu-Jitsu sharing that with his students. As a former sailor in the US Navy, he understands the camaraderie and support that a team can provide to individuals, and strives to create that for his students. He has used his brand and network to benefit charities such as the WeDefy Foundation and Blackbelts For Butterflies, as well as LEO avocation with support of Invictus BJJ.
