The Press Conference - assign each pupil a topic in advanced that they will be questioned on and another they will prepare questions for. Pupils sit at a desk at the front in turn and answer questions about their allocated topic.
Retrieval Spreadsheet - pupils create a spreadsheet (using Excel or Sheets) and generate questions and answers for a range of topics. Pupils hide the answers to allow future self-testing and can colour code their answers to help focus their revision (shared by Paul in the past).
Recharge your revision (image on right) - 0% (should get all these right), 20% (require a little more thought), 60% (getting more difficult) and 100% (you really need to think).
‘Push your Pal’ - draw four boxes on your board. If a pupil gets a question right their name goes in the box. Subsequent pupilscan then ‘push’ their classmates out and replace them with your own name.
Quiz Noughts & Crosses - split pupils into two groups and groups need to race to answer teacher questions. First group finished gets to add an 'X' or 'O' after each question.
Ahaslides - a website that allows you to embed interactive polls/quizzes in to your PowerPoints. QR codes are on the slide and answers show up in the PowerPoint - https://ahaslides.com/
Would you rather? - you may be familiar with the game 'Would you Rather'? In it, you're given two options and must choose one e.g. would you rather eat pizza or tacos for dinner? Often used in lessons as a 'brain break' - could also be used for learning. Through asking pupils to explain their answers you can use different command words from the DGS Taxonomy to support high-order thinking. There are subject-specific examples in the link provided
