From February 2023, we have started attending swimming lessons at Aberdeen Sports Village.
This opportunity is fantastic and allows our children to develop in so many ways including confidence, co-ordination and improves their health and wellbeing.
Our PEEP group runs in block sessions throughout the year
Peep supports all parents and carers with children from pregnancy to school age, in encouraging their child's learning and development.
You can make a real difference just by talking, playing, singing and sharing books or activities together.
Come along - you and your child can make friends, share ideas and have fun through singing, reading and many other activities.
Our group meets at:
Links Nursery and Hub at Regent Walk
on:
Thursday's at 9:30am
If you have an interest in taking part in our PEEP sessions alongside your child, please inform a member of our staff team. When Covid Restrictions lift, this will be able to take place in the Family Room at Links Nursery and Hub with a larger group of families and children.
“There is a growing body of research that shows that young children’s access to nature and outdoor play is positively associated with improved self-esteem, physical health, development of language skills and disposition to learning.” (Davy, 2009 (57) My World Outdoors – Care Inspectorate.
Fresh Air Fridays!
Each Friday at Links we encourage all children to participate in 'Fresh air Friday' where we spend the day outdoors in the garden.
During all sessions we explore literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing alongside life skills and our role as responsible citizens in caring for the world and the community around us.
We ask that all children come with weather appropriate clothing on these days. Our staff are happy to discuss the benefits of outdoor learning and how it supports children's learning and development.
Some of our sessions have included: A fire session, Book Bug visit, a visit to the Aberdeen Science Centre, A visit to the Beach, Seaton Park and a visit to the McDuff Aquarium.
Outdoor Learning with Links Nursery and Hub takes place on Fridays, as our Friday Family Fun Days. These sessions also run in blocks and all families are welcome to join! If you are interested in Joining our Outdoor Learning Sessions please speak to a member of our staff team.
At Links Nursery and Hub we work closely with Book Bug and our Local Library!
With Book bug visiting us every term, parents and families are invited to join Links Nursery alongside their child for a fun session with Book Bug. These sessions are planned in advanced and an information leaflet is shared with parents and families prior to the sessions.
Our children make visits to the library every Wednesday morning from 10:00am-12:00pm. throughout the nursery year each child will have opportunities to viisit the libary.
At Links Nursery and Hub we value the views of our children and families. With this in mind, if you have any ideas for future projects we can run, please let our staff know for future planning. If you have any special skills or interests highlight them to staff too! Links Nursery and Hub loves having parents, carers and families over!
