Word Parts
Write your words. Then use a coloured pencil to divide the words into syllables.
Diacritical Marking
Write each of your spelling words three times and diacritically mark them.
Spelling Staircase
Start at top with one letter and work your way down until you spell the entire word.
Sporty Spelling
Play a ball game, such as football, tennis or throw and catch, to spell out your words. Take turns saying the next letter of the spelling word as you pass the ball to each other.
Forwards & Backwards
Spell each word forwards, then backwards, then forwards again.
Dictionary Definitions
Find the dictionary definition of your words.
Rainbow Writing
Write each word 4 times, each time with a different colour of pencil or pen.
Upper Case and Lower Case
Write your words in lower case, then upper case and repeat this.

Write sentences using each of your spelling words. You may use more than one word in each sentence. Remember to use openers and connectives.

Count your spelling words. Draw a shape for each one and write your spelling word inside the shape.
Create a Crossword
Create clues for each of your words and make a crossword for a friend or relative to complete.
Join The Dots
Write each of your words using dots. Then join the dots with a coloured pencil to make your word.
ABC Order
Write your words in alphabetical order.
Blue Vowels
Write out each of your words. Go over the vowels in each word using blue pencil.
Across and Down
Write your words across and down, sharing the same first letter.
Silly Sentences
Write silly sentences with a spelling word in each sentence.
E.g. My cat wears a yellow hat whilst dancing.
Bubble Words
Write your spelling words in bubble letters. After you have written them, make them colourful.
Cool Comic
Draw a three boxed comic strip using at least two of your words in each scene. Use speech bubbles to add text.
Hidden Words
Create an image of your choice, e.g. space, park, beach. Hide all your spelling words within your picture.
Spelling Scribble
Create a pattern/scribble and fill each section with your spelling words. Use coloured pens or pencils.
Language Words
Write all of your words in a different language.
E.g. hello - bonjour
Song Writing
Write a song using at least 3 of your spelling words.
Amazing Alternatives
Use a thesaurus to find alternatives for as many of your words as possible.
Superhero Letter
Write a letter to a superhero using as many of your spelling words as possible.

Type up your words on the computer using a Google Doc. Use different fonts, shapes and colours.
Code Breaker
Make up your own code from A-Z and write a code of your spelling words.
Movie Script
Write a movie script using at least 5 of your spelling words. Include characters and stage directions.
Elkonin Boxes
Draw your own Elkonin Boxes. Write the word three times using Elkonin Boxes.
