Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. Aberdeen Grammar School uses Google Classroom to deliver online learning. Google Classroom can be accessed at classroom.google.com/.
At the beginning of the academic year your child will have been invited to join a Google Classroom for each of their subjects, or provided with the Classroom code. If you need this invitation to be re-sent, please ask your child to contact their teacher.

We need practical help with online learning:

You can use this service to get email summaries about your child's activity in Classroom
The easiest way to complete Classwork assignment for Google Classroom is using a laptop, desktop computer or a Chromebook.
If required, please contact the school to request a Chromebook or dongle to enable your child to engage fully with Google Classroom.
You will have set three security questions and an alternative email address using the form in school. Should you forget your password use this page to request a password reset.
If you do not know your security questions or have not set them, please email digitalteam@aberdeencity.gov.uk
If your child is still unable to access their account please email aberdeengrammarschool@aberdeencity.gov.uk
Your child has access to their ‘To do’ list which shows the work which needs to be completed across all their Classrooms and the due dates.
You can also sign up to receive daily or weekly summaries for your child’s classes which detail pupil work due in near future. See the Google Classroom email summaries document for details on how to sign up to receive these emails.
Please note that by signing up to receive summary emails from your child's classes this does not provide you with access to your child's individual classes or to their "To do" list. Only they will have that access.
In your email program, at the bottom of any email summary, click Settings
If you haven't already, sign in to your Google Account.
Under Frequency, click the Down arrow and choose when to get summaries:

If you are experiencing any problems receiving email summaries please check this troubleshooting guide.
Your child is expected to attend all online Meets. These live interactive sessions provide an excellent opportunity for your child to experience face-to-face teaching, interact with their peers and to ask their teacher questions. If your child is unable to attend a live Meet they should contact their class teacher.
Yes. Pupils should always contact their teacher through the Private Message function on Google Classroom or via Gmail if there is anything they don't understand.
