Standard for Career-Long Professional Learning

1.1 Professional Values; Trust & Respect, Integrity: The very nature of this programme is to develop a culture of trust and respect for others. The programme offers a platform not only for developing strong working relationships with those in the cohort, but to give participants a very clear understanding of the need for kindness, honesty and purposeful relationships with those who are being mentored.


2.1.2 Have an enhanced and critically informed understanding of Research and Engagement in Practitioner Enquiry: Teachers engage with Educational research and use a variety of enquiry methods to apply relevant findings to their own professional practice.


3.3.1 Engage critically with literature, research and policy and 3.3.2 Engage in reflective practice to develop and advance career-long professional learning and expertise: Participants are given the opportunity to challenge their current practice, maintain a record demonstrating evidence of impact, as well as contributing to a learning culture which supports the professional learning of others.

Standard for Middle Leaders

2.1.4 Have knowledge and understanding of Leadership and Management related to your context and 2.2.2 Understand and demonstrate self-awareness and inspire and motivate others: Participants demonstrate how their role as leaders and mentors empowers those that they are supporting, whilst reflecting on the ethos and culture they are creating as leaders of learning.


3.1.3 Enable and sustain processes which actively promote professional dialogue, critical reflection and collegial practice as a way of evaluating and enhancing curriculum practices (including pedagogy and assessment practices) and wellbeing: Participants will work collaboratively to engage in professional dialogue, reflect and self-evaluate practice. They will engage with a range of peer learning approaches in order to model and support the development of others.


3.3.2 Develop coaching and mentoring skills and promote the use of coaching and mentoring principles and approaches which support professional learning and foster a culture of peer support, commitment and collegiality;
