Who we are now.
Walker Road School, alongside Victoria Road School are considered institutional pillars in Torry's educational past.
It was the second school to be developed in the Torry burgh after Victoria Road School. Designed by architect Robert Gordon Wilson and named after James Walker of Richmondhill (former Lord Provost of Aberdeen), it was the task of former Frederick Street School Head Teacher, Mr James Campbell to assume its first Headship. Arguably in combination, these three figure-heads are the founders of Walker Road School.
Foundational timeline:
1805:
Designed by architect Robert Gordon Wilson - the school's unique factor was its 15ft boiler with fan propellers, which blew hot air into the classrooms above (a marvel of its time).

1897-1909:
Opened on Monday 8th March 1897 by Mr James Campbell (former Frederick Street Head Teacher). Mr Campbell became Head Teacher of Marywell and Holburn Street Schools in 1909.
