BOOK REVIEW
The book review template must be used and entries must be typed.
NO illustrations
BookTok
Make a BookTok style video about your experience with GCBA 2024. You could review your favourite book, talk about a particular theme or character in any of the books, talk about any books added to your TBR list because of the award, talk about how the award opened you up to a new author or a new genre, talk about the cover that you loved best of the short-listed books… it could be anything related to books and your reading of the GCBA 2024 short-listed books!
Your video should be at least 60 seconds and up to 3 minutes long
It should be filmed BookTok style, e.g. casual and fun
You can film your video anywhere and you can use editing and effects as much as you like.
BookToks will be used on the GCBA website. The GCBA will hold the copyright to the trailers: all entrants are asked to sign a permission slip to this effect.
BOOK TRAILERS
Entries must be no more than a maximum of 2 minutes in length.
Entries can use iMovie, Powerpoint or moviemaker but should be submitted as a wmv format.
Please pay attention to copyright for both images and audio that may be used.
Book trailers will be used on the GCBA website. The GCBA will hold the copyright to the trailers: all entrants are asked to sign a permission slip to this effect.
JUDGING
Each local authority will put forward the top 3 entries in the Book Review and Book Trailer category for the final.
Each school will enter their best BookTok entry and these will be available on the website prior to the award ceremony and pupils will vote for their favourite using the form on the website.
The GCBA representative in each authority will organise an independent judge(s).
The 9 finalists in each category will judged by an independent judge and announced at the GCBA award ceremony on 8 May 2024.
DISPLAY
All final 9 book reviews will be displayed at the ceremony. The top 3 winners of the Booktok and book trailers are also included in the Powerpoint which runs behind the stage.
The final 9 entries in each competition will be available on the GCBA website.
