Course Overview

The aims of the Course are to enable learners to: 

The Course enables learners to develop an extended range of computing and computational thinking skills, including skills in analysis and problem-solving, design and modelling, developing, implementing, testing and evaluating digital solutions across a range of contemporary contexts. Topics covered include: Software design and development, Computer systems, Database design and development and Web design and development.

Assessment Methods

The learner will be assessed by a combination of a question paper and an assignment.  

Component 1: Question paper (110 Marks) 2 hours 30 minutes

Component 2: Assignment (50 Marks) 8 hours

Entry Requirements

Pupils will normally be required to have an A or B in National 5 Computing Science.
