S2 Drama

The course has been designed so that it builds on the experiences and learning of the pupils from S1. It also enables pupils to develop the skills and competencies required for progression to Drama senior phase.  The course is split into units where pupils get the opportunity to learn about the different roles within Drama. Evaluation is integrated within the course to enrich contextual understanding and pupil experience.  

Units covered are as follows: 

• Skills unit - this will cover important drama terminology and skills needed within the course.

• The Fire Unit  - applying the devising process to create a whole class play from a stimulus

• Murder Mystery - Creating and performing a murder mystery script using theatre arts

• Working with a text - Pupils learning how to bring a script to life

• Performance Analysis - pupils watch a live performance and learn how to analyse it.
