S2 Biology

The S2 Biology course is divided into four units, covering a wide variety of topics which are related to pupil’s lives and the world about them. The course is designed to build upon the investigative skills and topics taught in S1 Science, whilst also helping establish the skills required for effective progression into the National 4 and 5 courses. 

There will be opportunities for pupils to increase confidence working in groups and independently in a practical based environment. 

The course consists of the following units:

• Cells and Immunity

• Fertilisation, Embryonic Development and DNA

• Enzymes and Microorganisms 

• Photosynthesis and Chemicals in Agriculture
