Absence Advice

Illness/planned absence

The weekly ACMS schedule comprises of over 120 weekly instrumental lessons both in person and online,  ensemble rehearsals, group learning sessions, library sessions, personal practice sessions, boarding activities, and many other types of interest. If a pupil is unable to attend ACMS for any reason it is essential to provide us with information as soon as possible so that we can let our tutors know in advance and reorganise the schedule for other pupils and staff.

Please note that absences have a significant impact on our tutors schedules, pupils lessons and ensembles. Ensemble music usually has to be changed if a pupil does not attend and this is difficult to do at short notice.

In the event of illness or a planned absence please do as follows:-

• Email Elaine Donati edonati@aberdeencity.gov.uk as soon as possible to let us know about the illness or absence

• Please also email (or copy in) Dyce Academy dyceacademy@aberdeencity.gov.uk to let them know about the absence

• Please email (or copy in) ACMS Boarding if your child is a boarder.
