School of Choice

Month of February

This process allows a student to attend a non-Charter school outside of their neighborhood school attendance area but within his or her resident school district. This is a local issue. Once approved for School of Choice Open Enrollment, families do not need to reapply, all students will transition along with their peers.

  • Late applications will not be accepted for any reason. Phoned-in applications are not permitted. If you are not able to apply online, you may apply with a paper form, which will be located at the Attendance & Enrollment Office beginning Monday, February 1, 2021.

  • If a student lives in North's area, but has never attended AASD before, they will fill out a New to District application in mid-July.

Step 3: Your North Schedule

  • Students enrolling after the school year begins will have a schedule created that matches as closely as possible to the schedule they they had at their prior school. In the event that there is not a match, students will be asked to to review North's course offerings to find alternates.

  • Students planning to enroll for the following year, it is helpful if we have a completed course request form on file. Feel free to complete the form and drop it off at North. We will refer to this course request to build their schedule once they are enrolled.

  • Students with IEPs or EL students will have their schedule reviewed by the assigned Case manager.

  • Your student's schedule will be created when all materials have been received and they are enrolled. (enrollment for new students begins mid-July)
