Student-Athlete Responsibilities:
Being part of a team is a privilege and student athletes must be successful in school prior to being part of Track & Field. Grades and Career & Life Skills (CLS) scores matter. Participants must be passing classes and getting a 2 or better as part of the Code of Conduct. Participants must also follow the Wildcat Way during school and at practice. In short respect yourself/others/environment.
Weather:
If we are outside for practice or a meet and the weather turns bad, the team will take shelter in the school’s basement (old weight room) or another designated area. During this weather alert please do not come to school looking for your child. We will only release students when the alert is canceled. Also, please do not call the school during a weather alert as no one will be available to take your call. Other than during severe weather, we will try to practice on the track. Thank you for encouraging your daughter/son to bring appropriate clothes for practice throughout the season.
General Notes:
Should your daughter/son have a concern or complaint, he/she should begin by talking to the coaches. Parents should become involved after student – athlete communications with the coaches has not led to an equitable result.
Please reinforce with your daughter/son not to bring valuables to practices and/or meets due to the possibility that it may be stolen. Schools cannot guarantee secure locker rooms. Also, please reinforce with your daughter/son the importance of locking up all of their possessions. There has been some trouble with items being stolen in the past.
