Huron's IB Diploma, Career-related program, and Course students reflect the diversity of the entire Huron population.
Compared to overall Huron demographics, our lowest represented group, African American students, are increasing in our 11th and 12th grade IB programming.
In-District Transfer (IDT) and School of Choice (SOC) students taking DP Courses in 11th and 12th grade = 30%
IDT/SOC students at Huron High School (overall) = 31%
Huron's IB programs reflect AAPS feeder patterns of the school.
Scarlett (red) reflects nearly 30% of Huron as well as approximately 30% of our full DP and CP students.
Clague (green) reflects approximately 30-35% of Huron as we see 30-40% represented as full DP and CP students
Tappan (blue) reflects approximately 5-7% of Huron whereas we see nearly 20% of our full DP and 5-10% of our full CP students.
In District Transfer- IDT (orange) represent 2% of Huron and we see about that in full DP.
School of Choice - SOC (yellow) represent 25% of Huron and we see 10-20% participating in full DP, whereas 25-40% SOC students participating in full CP.
Our scores are healthy. Being at (or above in some cases, including the CP by far!) the IB World Average for a no barrier and free examination program is phenomenal! We encourage each kid to take the full DP experience, which includes examinations. Since the IB, unlike AP, has 3-4 different assessments in each class, this is an ongoing skill.

For a comprehensive American high school like Huron, we would expect approximately 5-10% of any graduating class to take on full DP due to the rigor, variety of choice, and other factors.
At Huron, we additionally have CP (most high schools do not) and we expect another approximately 5-10% to choose that path.
Most local comprehensive high schools with IB, AP, Honors, Dual Enrollment, etc see about 5% participation in full DP/CP.
Approximately half of a graduating class is taking at least 1 DP class, many are taking more than 1.
Misinformation: "We are running IB for 40 students." This is a false statement.
This data show the % of Huron students that earn a 3+ (passing) on IB Exams, a 4+ (gives credit at most universities) and 5+ (gives credit at most selective universities)
IB performs better than AP at Huron based on 3+ score data.
