Amanda Blackson-Pakela

After attending the Ann Arbor Public Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade, Amanda attended the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education. She loves to play the euphonium, which she has been playing since FIFTH GRADE, but especially loves exploring the ins and outs of other instruments to better her craft as a music educator.

This year, Amanda also teaches band at Slauson MS and Burns Park Elementary.

A fun fact about Amanda - her husband is a band teacher in AAPS too! You'll find Mr. Henry Blackson-Pakela over at Clague Middle School, King Elementary, and Logan Elementary.

Amanda enjoys singing tunes with her ukulele, camping and taking long walks with her beagle, Beatrice.
