Youth Assembly

The Youth Assembly was created to give youth a space for their voices to be heard.

This assembly is made up of the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.

All youth are welcome to attend the meetings.

Youth Newsletter Committee

This committee has been created to give youth an opportunity to inform the community of current events/activities or accomplishments. As a committee, youth will work together to decide what is published.

Arts and Crafts

We will have Art and Crafts for the both groups. Each time we will do a new project or continue an old one.

Ojibwemowin

Youth will be working with Memengwaa and staff to learn Ojibwe words, phrases and culture. Activities for the elementary and teens will be different but much the same as we are all learning together. The culture is a big part of who we are and is a way of life.

Cooking

Youth will cook age appropriate meals and snacks under the supervision of staff that are Serve-Safe Certified.

Sewing/Beading

Teen youth will have the opportunity to start a beading/sewing project and continue to work on it during groups. You are welcome to bring projects they are already working on. Staff will do the best they can to guide youth and teach new skills or improve.

Volleyball

Youth will play and practice together to promote physical health. This is a favorite of youth but may be switched out with another physical activity, depending on youth interest. Youth are expected to play and dress appropriately. We may also take this time to utilize the fitness room.
